      Verdict

      Bearing Bob has placed over shorter trips at Wolverhampton recently. But he sets only a modest standard rated 66 and a chance is taken on the newcomer AFTER EIGHT. The latter can include a Group 3 winner over today’s trip among his winning relatives and Andrew Balding’s colt gets the vote. Thermometer never figured at Southwell on his debut for new connections while Surrey Mist has his first outing since last summer’s debut having been subsequently gelded.
