In depth

Verdict

Despite only beating one home, Good News wasn’t beaten far at Fontwell in November. Brunel Woods should strip fitter for a run at Uttoxeter having finished second at Wincanton in the spring while Enniscoffey Oscar would have been placed in a point at Ballindenisk in May had he not fallen. But it will be disappointing if there isn’t something among the newcomers that proves superior with SLIDING DOORS a likely candidate. His sire Ask had a bumper winner at Uttoxeter on New Year’s Eve and his dam Reseda won twice over hurdles.
