        Verdict

        Mercers has won three times around here but it's taken 33 runs to reach that total. PASSIONAL followed a comfortable victory on Fibresand at Southwell with another on Tapeta at Wolverhampton on Saturday. She comes here with a 5lb penalty but her yard is in fine form and a hat-trick looks on the cards. Eastern Star is 0-15 and hasn't run since September but is reasonably consistent at this sort of level while Everkyllachy is certain to be better for last month's run here, her first since January, and the promising Laura Pearson can claim 7lb. Captain Ryan is best at Wolverhampton and was engaged in the 3.50 there yesterday.
