In depth

Verdict

Mister Universe and Emell return to action but both have proved best over shorter trips so far. Basil Berry has won over today's distance in the past but ran below par at Wolverhampton last time and is now 9lb higher than his earlier win at the same track. LUNAR DEITY was winning for the second time this year when beating Si Senor over track and trip three weeks ago. That form looks solid enough in this context as the latter had earlier beaten 2012 winner Forceful Appeal and Stuart Williams' charge looks capable of going in again. Bertiewhittle and Lacan rarely nowadays while Unforgiving Minute continues to struggle.
