The short list in the opener contains Mount Hermon, Farleigh House and Spriggan, with Mount Hermon getting the vote. Mount Hermon showed plenty of promise when third on his Salisbury debut and, given that his stable are not noted for first-time out winners, well, he has to get some thought for this today. Bring It On Home is from a canny stable and is maybe one to watch for the future, unless the market says otherwise. Christalini's Newbury debut suggested promise, so she has to be given some thought, while the form of Farleigh House's last two runner-up efforts afford him plenty of respect today. Spriggan's Goodwood debut third was also full of promise, while a number of others have shown promise in limited outings - including Distiller, Edison and Extractor - so it would be no surprise for them improve again, and Malt Or Mash could be an interesting newcomer but, all things considered in having to make a choice, the selection is Mount Hermon.
