Verdict

Stolen Song is still a maiden but looks to have a tremendous chance here with Gold Guest and He Who Dares put forward as the main dangers. Mick Ryan's four-year-old returns from a spell of hurdling where he wasn't disgraced against some decent opposition. The last time he visited this track was back in July when he ran a cracker to finish third behind Bishop's Finger in a classified contest. A repeat of that showing should be good enough against these. Gold Guest was an impressive course and distance winner last month when easily accounting for Welsh Wind, with Scottish River a further half a length away in third. Both the placed horses are much better off at the weights but Gold Guest won with something in hand and can confirm the form. He Who Dares tries a longer trip after finding all sorts of trouble in running when a gallant second behind Cold Climate back in early December, and looks certain to go close, however Stolen Song looks the pick of the weights and is given the nod.
