Verdict
Placed over this trip at Kempton and Ascot, The Ice Phoenix sets a decent standard rated 80 but others may be more progressive. Newmarket fifth Francisco is a likely improver but this may chiefly concern MONFRID and Secret World. William Haggas' colt made a promising debut when second behind the odds-on Gamekeeper at Wolverhampton and gets 2lb from the Johnston filly, who will make a bold bid to defy her penalty but has been done no favours by an outside draw.
