Kevin Ryan's RIVER THAMES looks good on these terms to beat rivals Autumn Blades and The Game. This may be a step up in class from his last time out victory but the five-year-old is still rated four pounds lower than his turf mark and seven pounds lower on his best on this surface. He also receives weight all round here and that last victory came with plenty in hand so he looks really well placed to follow up with another win. Autumn Blades, on the other hand, is back to a career high mark after a decent outing at Wolverhampton over a longer trip last time. In the past this rating has been enough to stop him winning and that looks to be the case again with the shorter trip not his best although he should challenge. The Game was a winner in a better contest at Newmarket in July but has struggled to produce that sort of form on the polytrack in the past. His latest outing put some of those doubts to one side with a decent display over course and distance when second of 11 after a three months break. He'll be sharper from this but will have to concede weight all round. Brandywell Boy looks set for at least a place judged on recent efforts but to win it we go with River Thames.
