Formidable Guest, Bavarica, and Becuille look the principals in an open affair, with top weight FORMIDABLE GUEST taken to atone for a well backed disappointment last time. Becuille left recent form behind when scoring last time. That was a real step up and it remains to be seen if he can follow up. He is only three pounds higher here for his first success, but the feeling is that his win may have come in a weak affair. Bavarica won four outings ago but has been beaten since and may just need to come back down the handicap another couple of pounds to return to winning form as he looks thoroughly exposed. Formidable Guest won successive races earlier in the year, and has been the epitome of consistency since. He has not been beaten far in recent contests and Formidable Guest can prove too tough for the others.
