Verdict

ADAYAR finished strongly to claim second place in the Classic Trial at Sandown. This extra distance promises further progress and he should confirm latest running with both Recovery Run and Etonian. Aidan O’Brien won this with subsequent Derby hero Anthony Van Dyck in 2019 and Ryan Moore prefers the chances of Cork winner Kyprios to Frankie’s mount and Group 3 third Carlisle Bay. Both of the Ballydoyle horses are fitted with headgear for the first time while Scope went close when carrying a penalty at Newmarket and Third Realm won a maiden at Nottingham last month.
