Verdict
Plenty of these come into the race with solid claims and it could turn out to be a fast-run affair. Embassy Lord and Lotto have obvious claims on what they have shown so far and have to be considered as serious dangers, but Rules For Jokers is better than his last run would suggest and he is given a chance to redeem himself on a track that he has acquitted himself at admirably already this term. The son of Mujadil has been crying out for this extra furlong but also has the speed to gain a prominent position early to combat a less than ideal draw. The presence of the in-form Cheverak Forest and Zarneeta should ensure that there is value to be had in a field of this size. But the former has improvement to find and will find this a lot tougher than the slowly-run seller he won at Ripon last time. Whereas Zarneeta will struggle to reverse recent form with Embassy Lord; despite getting in here off a featherweight. So Rules For Jokers, who is part-owned by Jim McGrath, is given the nod to make the most of lenient looking mark of 67 today.
