Verdict
Heavenly Bay is tentatively selected to continue Clive Brittain's good run, with the obvious dangers coming from La Mouline and Midsummer. The Rahy filly is still a maiden, but put up a much-improved performance when second to Fantasize in Listed-company at Ascot last time. She is bred to appreciate at least 10 furlongs, and with the stable in such good form she may just be capable of going better in what appears to be a fairly weak trial. La Mouline scraped home in a small field at Haydock last time, and she should certainly appreciate this trip, although she would have to improve again to win this. A bigger threat will come from Henry Cecil's Midsummer, who is bred in the purple and was most impressive when winning her maiden at Kempton last month, so seems sure to go on to better things. Santa Sophia, Flying Wanda and Ciel all look to have a good deal more on their plate than when winning ordinary looking maidens.
