Verdict

Sunny Sprite gets the nod to build on his pleasing debut and is taken to score ahead of Missit and newcomers Man Appeal and Elizabeth Swan. The selection comes here on the back of a fine second at the track on the all-weather when he had to race wide round the bend but once he got the hang of things late on, he powered home and was only beaten a neck. Wiser today, he looks sure to run well from a fair draw. Missit also finished second on her debut. She is bred to get further and now stepped up a furlong in trip she should be involved in the finish, with the form of her first run at Newmarket looking solid. Better can be expected of Barry Hills' Eseej who made his debut in a tough York maiden and wasn't given a hard time when beaten having been slow away and pulled hard early on. Carnival Queen let down backers last time out in a weak Redcar race and needs to improve, whilst Elizabeth Swan looks the most interesting of the newcomers. From a stable who can ready a newcomer, this 45,000 guineas daughter of Bahamian Bounty warrants a check in the betting. All in all this looks a fair maiden for the track and Sunny Sprite is taken to brighten up our day.
