In depth

Verdict

The lightly raced Homebred Star could be of interest on his reappearance but lack of a recent run has to be of concern so preference is for Fulvio, who is preferred to Pheckless. The last mentioned indicated last time over course and distance that his turn may not be far away and a reproduction of that effort would see Milton Bradley's gelding go close. Paul Blockley's Wiltshire faces no easy task giving weight away all round, while Edge Fund has regressed considerably over the last few months. Old Bailey has claims on the pick of his form but is inconsistent, while Aintnecessarilyso may appreciate the return to this surface having failed to reproduce his form on the Fibresand on his last two starts. Temper Tantrum has been running in better races than this and is another to consider but the vote goes to Fulvio. Paul Howling's gelding invariably finds at least one too good but he will not have many better opportunities than this to resume winning ways and is taken to gain a deserved success.
