In depth

Formwatch

Days of Grace Returned to optimum distance today and one for the short-list in very open race.

Wax Lyrical Excellent second on first run for trainer at Newbury before disappointing last time; could easily bounce back to form and is a leading contender.

Ivory Dawn Has disappointed recently but could easily win this if returning to best; trainer is something of a specialist with sprinters and one to consider.

Quatredil (IRE) Winner over today's trip at Leicester last time but is best over seven furlongs; should run a good race but others preferred.

Mammas F-C (IRE) Good effort to win at Pontefract last time and has won here before; with trainer still in excellent form likely to make a bold bid to defy penalty.

Early Wish (USA) Has disappointed over further recently and of far more interest now returned to today's distance and definitely one for the short-list.

Caposo (IRE) Trainer in good form but bit to find in competitive race.

Bayonet Returned to best form when fifth at Salisbury last time and cannot be dismissed on that effort.

Securon Dancer Difficult to know optimum trip and not necessarily going in the right direction; others preferred.

Damasquiner Good all-weather performer who ran well over minimum trip on turf last time; today's distance looks ideal and is one to beat.

Velvet Slipper Good effort at Newmarket last time over seven furlongs but today's ease in trip may not be ideal.

Oare Kite Has not been running well recently and with yard out of form is best overlooked.

Pertemps Gill Best performance to date when finishing fifth at Chepstow last time and cannot be dismissed on that effort; may just find one or two too good today.

Formal Party Has not recreated best form of last year but with trainer in good form may have outside possibilities.
