Verdict

MYLORD COLLONGES gets the vote here ahead of Perange and Magot De Grugy. A winner of four of his last six starts, the selection has really got his act together of late. His recent win at the track came over two miles but he is equally effective over this trip and with the ground on his side he is taken to defy a 9lb rise in the weights. Top-weight Figaru Du Rocher could run well at a price, however the main danger could prove to be Perange. Lurking at the bottom of the weights, the 12-year-old is still fairly lightly raced and was in fair form when last seen in the Spring. Enroblim Trop is not the most consistent but he is unexposed over fences and was impressive when winning last time out at Folkestone. The Hardy Boy has claims, but is arguably best at Plumpton where he has recorded the majority of his wins, whilst Magot De Grugy has ability and has won on this ground more than once before. A tricky handicap, but preference is for Mylord Collonges.
