In depth
Verdict
This is a hard one to solve, with at least six in with a major chance, including the likes of Golden Brief, Red Opal and Effervesce. Majik lines up in great heart too, having won three of his last six starts. At his best in the summer, with successes at Epsom and Haydock, the three-year-old came back to form at Southwell last month, staying on well to score over six furlongs. He looked ready for the step back up to seven then, and will be a much more potent force than when tailed off her on his debut last March, and as such gets the nod from TEAMtalk ahead of likely favourite Material Witness and live outsider Turku.
