        Verdict

        A wide open amateur race gets proceedings underway, in which jockeyship will be all important. Tuscarora won a similar contest over course and distance last time out and has one of the top jockeys booked. The filly from the Patrick Haslam yard will be hard to beat if she reproduces that effort but consistency is not her strong point. Legal Set rates the main danger. He has been running fairly well in much better races without winning of late but the step down back into claiming company could make all the difference. However the seven-year-old is giving weight to all his rivals and that may catch him out. Amelia has also been in good form of late and had Legal Set behind when winning over course and distance in December. Nineacres was third behind Tuscarora last time out but even on these revised terms he may struggle to confirm placings. Sounds Lucky is from a yard in top form but he has become disappointing of late, however a market move could be significant. Lay Down Sally is another who would have a chance on her best form but she is better over the minimum trip. Of the remainder The Gay Fox could go well at a big price with his yard back among the winners of late.
