        Verdict

        Lang Shining has gone off the boil since rattling up a hat-trick last autumn and there are doubts about Faithful Ruler's ability to stay this trip. The same comment applies to Thunderball, who can boast only two wins in 39 starts while Sgt Schultz has done all his winning over further and may struggle despite coming out best at the weights. CLASSICALLY landed a double over today's trip at Kempton late last year but didn't take to hurdling when last seen at the track in October. There should be more to come on Polytrack and Hughie Morrison's charge gets the vote.
