      Verdict

      AMWELL PINOT shaped as though needing the run on his return from a lay-off here a week ago. Alan Bailey's colt is much the best of these on turf and looks ready to translate that form to the Polytrack. Angelic Upstart has taken well to this surface, winning at both Wolverhampton and Kempton on his last two starts and there should be more to come from him while Palm Pilot is another on the upgrade. She won at Wolverhampton on her latest start and is closely matched with Geordie Iris on earlier form but Southwell maiden winner Night Witch may struggle back in handicap company.
