In depth
Verdict
Nassaro was a major drifter in the market and he ran creditably although rather green in his race. He is sure to have improved for the experience but anything he achieves at two years is surely a bonus. Geoff Wragg saddles an interesting runner in Grand Passion. Third in a Pontefract maiden over six furlongs, he left the impression that he needs further. On breeding it looks as if Pretence will need further than this and is duly opposed. Equally Soprano, on breeding, should make a better three-year-old. The TEAMtalk vote is for Gilded Edge. There is plenty of speed in the pedigree of John Gosden's filly and if she has any of the tenaciousness of her relative, Palacegate Touch - she should be one tough cookie.
