Verdict

Course regular Grendisar won this in 2014 and was narrowly beaten last year. He’s not easily overlooked but finished behind EDUCATE (NAP) when this year’s John Smith’s Cup winner was second in the Listed Churchill Stakes here last month. Jim Crowley takes over the reins on the latter and he’s taken to go on better. Saeed Bin Suroor trained the Churchill Stakes winner so Dubai Fashion could go well despite having a bit to find at the weights while Battalion returned an impressive winner of a conditions race over course and distance on his latest start and is another to consider. The remainder have plenty to find with Brandybend perhaps best of them.
