Verdict
Not the easiest of races to work out so the tentative selection is Balerno, with Kinsman and Piquet given as the main dangers. The form of Balerno's recent course victory has been given a major boost with runner up Miss Peaches successful on Monday. His previous handicap form was quite moderate but that was over a longer trip, and now he has tasted victory he could run up a sequence. Kinsman also gained an overdue success when beating Mayzin over the seven furlong trip here last week. He is now a bit high in the weights but should still figure in the finish. Of the others Piquet looks to have a major chance. He easily got the better of Wanna Shout in a banded race here a fortnight ago and with that runner up obliging on Monday Piquet has to be respected. To add even more complications Ranny and Raheel have shown plenty of ability for their top stables, so in a very open affair Balerno just gets the vote.
