In depth

Verdict

Fyodor is taken to gain revenge over Les Arcs, with Dancing Mystery and Fire Up The Band worth a mention at least. The first two named both line up in good form, with Les Arcs having beaten Fyodor narrowly over what was a career-high mark in a handicap here at the beginning of February. The latter reopposes on slightly better terms here and that should just about be enough for him to turn the tables and gain his first victory at the Surrey track. He has won on Wolverhampton's Polytrack so handles the surface well, and is better drawn than Tim Pitt's challenger today. Last year's winner Dancing Mystery has been running well enough without suggesting that he is going to repeat the feat, while Fire Up The Band is a class act on Turf on his day, but disappointed in this race two years ago. To be fair he has only had three outings here in his life, including when making a winning debut in 2002, and is sure to have been well galloped for his return to action. The rest make little appeal, and with plenty going for him here, Fyodor is the pick.
