Verdict

BALLISTA finished second when favourite for a three-runner claimer last time. But both rivals were rated higher than these and Tom Dascombe's charge can make amends. Doctor Parkes should have the edge over the returning Mister Musicmaster with an apprentice's 5lb allowance in his favour. He drops in class along with Mighty Zip but Moonlight Venture usually saves his best for Southwell nowadays having won twice there this year. Seek The Fair Land has plenty to find on these terms and it doesn't boost confidence to see stablemate Misleading, rated 81, make his reappearance in a plating race.
