        Verdict

        Valatrix is the pick with Artistic Licence and Wavertree Princess likely to go close. The filly was a touch disappointing over course-and-distance but had shaped well at Yarmouth previously. The trainer has been in fair form of late so it would be no surprise to see her bounce back to her best. Artistic License tries hard but is very much becoming the victim of her own consistency as far as handicapping is concerned. Wavertree Princess steps up to six furlongs having raced over the minimum trip in recent outings. She has had a break so the market will tell us exactly how fit she is today. Applesnap makes a first run for Amy Weaver having left Christine Dunnett. Fly Kiss looks in the grip of the handicapper. Asian Lady ran a little freely in first time visor and it is to be hoped that she doesn't do the same again second time around. Acquifier looks modest. Valatrix has plenty in her favour and gets the vote.
