Verdict

GOOSE GREEN's last three wins have all come at Brighton but he may be worth chancing here given that few of his rivals jump off the page. Barliffey is one of the more interesting rivals whilst Love In The Park and Rocky's Pride should also figure. Ron Hodges' experienced campaigner visited the winner's enclosure three times last season which saw his mark rise to somewhere near a career high but he ran well enough last time to think that he can win from his current perch. He wasn't beaten too far over course and distance last July in a race won by Love In The Park who is 4lbs worse off now; despite that, Roy Brotherton's mare has to be feared coming into the race on the back of a good run on the all-weather. Rocky's Pride is not the easiest to win with and has only a maiden and a claimer to his name thus far but Andy Haynes has enjoyed some success with similar sorts in the past and he's gone well for Ryan Moore. Barliffey has found success hard to come by but some of his handicap form from last season stands out like a sore thumb in this field and this drop in class may be all that's needed to see him score but we'll take a chance with the comparatively prolific Goose Green.
