In depth

Verdict

SILVER PRELUDE benefitted from a good ride last time but the manner of success was still impressive enough for us to back him to follow up, at the chief expense of Fromsong and Lord Of The Reins. Our selection is known for setting intense fractions, but young William Carson was happy to take a lead last time in a race packed with pace and that paid off as he came home strongly to score. Up 5lbs, he's no good-thing to follow up but he's won off higher marks and the yard remain in good form, so we fancy he'll prove hard to beat under new pilot Ryan Clark. Fromsong is 12-years-old now but still retains his enthusiasm judging by a last-time-out second, when Lord Of The Reins was back in third. The pair race of the same terms today and are closely matched, with Fromsong just preferred owing to his more straight-forward profile. If there is plenty of pace Lord Of The Reins would rate a big danger to all, as his hold-up style is suited to this track, although victory would represent a career best effort. Brynfa Boy has had less racing than most here but his maiden victory doesn't look strong form and against hardened handicapper's he's fancied to struggle, as is Master Lightfoot who is surely due a much-needed drop in the weights. Even Bolder is capable on his day but it's anyone's guess when that will be and this mark is stiff enough, so those looking for one at a price might be better advised to turn to Littlemisssunshine if prepared to give her rare shocker last time. Ten Down was put in his place behind our pick last time but don't rule out a bold front-running display, before he hopefully gives best to our selection Silver Prelude.
