In depth
Verdict
DECEMBER DRAW caught the eye over course and distance last time and is taken to go one better, while Ramona Chase is interesting in opposition and Officer In Command can go well. The selection goes well at this track, having scored here in a maiden over a mile, and then gone close when staying on late to claim second last month. He has gone up 2lbs for that, so his task is made no easier here, but he can hopefully prove good enough if put in the race a little earlier. Ramona Chase has put together a very competitive CV, though winning only one of 29 starts would hardly have us beating a path to the bookies' door. Even so, this is a bit of a drop in class compared to some of the turf races he has contested and he could show up very well. Officer In Command was a course and distance winner last time and races from just 3lbs higher now, so he can't be ruled out, but December Draw is preferred.
