        Verdict

        The first of just two races on the Polytrack, and FIRST SPIRIT is a confident selection, but there may be some support too for Diktalina and Dulce Domum. Stan Moore's filly won a similar contest here fairly easily last month, and followed that up with a place at a Windsor claimer. It's not a high standard she sets, but she looks well ahead of some of these, and the yard do well in this sort of race. Glan Lady is the only other runner in the field to have previously won, but that was on the Fibresand at Southwell, and she's shown little form on faster surfaces. Willie Muir's Diktalina is rated only a pound lower, but hasn't shown much running in handicaps recently. This may be her sort of level though. Dulce Domum is another who may find dropping out of handicap company an advantage. Captain Flack and Diktaram have first time headgear, but both need to show a big improvement on what they've done to date. It's not a great race, but carrying our support will be First Spirit.
