In depth
Verdict
The short list contains Royal Rationale, Snake's Head and River Hunter, with the selection being Royal Rationale. Royal Rationale, whose rating stands at 79, has shown enough, including when running second to Imply at Wolverhampton last time, to be suggested as the benchmark to the form of this contest. He should be able to run well here, as should Snake's Head, whose Folkestone second last time has earned her a rating of 75. The newcomers that catch the eye are Anna Towkaska and Sylvester Kirk's 58,000 euros son of Desert Prince, River Hunter, while Natural Action showed enough from run one to two to be given some thought in what is a run-of-the-mill maiden race. Finally, it would be no surprise to find that Serhaaphim is better than he has so far shown but, for the selection, we will stick with Royal Rationale.
