Verdict
Night Of Fortune is preferred to Johnny Rook and Zebrano. All three are relatively exposed but have shown enough to suggest that they can win an ordinary maiden and this fits that category. The selection seemed to see out this trip well enough in a fair race at Redcar on his penultimate start before reverting to six furlongs at Brighton where he never looked entirely happy. Zebrano attracted support and went close to justifying it at Folkestone last time but the third has been turned over at odds-on since and the form is nothing to get excited about but he does rate a player here. It was disappointing that Johnny Rook failed to land a maiden at Brighton given the favourite enjoyed little luck in running that day and he looks worth taking on again. He was beaten by a stablemate of Reel Ale that day and Peter Winkworth's contender may be able to leave his debut form behind. Mr Udagawa is in the neighbouring stall to Johnny Rook and is the most interesting of the newcomers; he's worth a market check but Night Of Fortune is preferred.
