Verdict
Beyond The Pole is given the tentative vote in the opener with Joely Green and Robbie Can Can also shortlisted in this amateur riders' handicap. The selection was an impressive winner on this track last time out when defeating Tropical Son. That run came after a spell over hurdles but he may be capable of following up, even though Louise Best takes over from Keiren Fallon in the saddle. Joely Green hails from the Nick Littmoden yard who have a tremendous strike-rate on the all-weather, and this course and distance winner could be capable of going well at an attractive price. The 7-year-old was well-beaten behind Beyond The Pole last time on this track, but he gets on with today's pilot so should not be too far away at the finish. The one negative with this gelding is that he is probably better over further, but he could still be capable of running into a place. Robbie Can Can is in fair form at present but looks a little high in the weights, while Forever My Lord is capable of a big run if things drop right for this hold-up performer, but in a wide open race we will give the selection to the in-form Beyond The Pole.
