Verdict
Mobasher in is great heart at present and is taken to land this prize ahead of Spring Gamble and Wet Lips. The Venetia Williams yard is sending out winners left right and centre and her five year-old is fully expected to defy a double penalty. Mobasher's most recent victory came on heavy ground at Towcester in January when staying on well to beat My Retreat. He was also successful at Doncaster on better ground before Christmas beating Collier Hill. Today's opponents don't appear to be any stronger and a third victory is fully expected. Spring Gamble should improve on his recent hurdling debut at Catterick where he finished second best behind Meggies Gamble. Wet Lips has shown enough on his last two outings to suggest a race of this nature is well within his compass. The most interesting newcomer here is Royal Shakespeare who cost 200,000 guineas as a yearling, but hasn't shown any real worthwhile form on the flat in Dubai. Steve Gollings is now in charge of this well bred gelding so take heed of any market moves. So not the strongest of races and Mobasher can give weight and a beating to his rivals.
