Verdict

A small field to kick off the day and now back up in trip NOBLE GREEK is taken to score from Caramelita. The selection is a well clear here on official ratings, with 16lbs in hand on Caramelita, the only other runner with a rating. John Best's charge has earned that mark of 82 after four starts, three of which have seen him defeated in maiden company, the other being in the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket last summer. He may not have been up to the class of that race, but he should be up to winning this. Caramelita has had seven attempts so far to break her maiden, including handicap defeats in her last two starts from marks of 68 and 67. Dropped 1lb again here, she can go well but it would be a surprise if she were good enough. French Wind may be capable of improvement now, and he will need to, after two relatively moderate efforts at Wolverhampton. A market check is advised for both him and Force To Spend, whose pedigree is decent, but who should be better over further. Noble Greek is a confident choice.
