Verdict
ENCORE D’OR won a similar handicap over track and trip three weeks ago. He had George Dryden back in third and an apprentice’s allowance negates a penalty. Bob Cowell’s sprinter also finished just ahead of Tomily when going close in a Listed event here earlier and looks the one to beat on recent form. A Momentofmadness made a winning return at Kempton last year though looked high enough in the weights during the remainder of the season while the in-form Captain Lars is aiming high in this company and Ascot Day may also struggle.
