Verdict
A maximum turnout for what looks a competitive event and it may be an advantage to be drawn on the stands' side, which brings Contrary Mary, War Valor, Ehab and the non to reliable Acorazado into the equation, with the latter getting one last chance to show his true colours. Taken off his legs at Nottingham last weekend in a similar contest to this, the form has already received a boost when the third that day Fly More went on to beat a big field at Goodwood on Thursday. Dropped 4lbs by the Handicapper for that effort is something of a bonus and with this trip likely to suit much better, he is a sporting choice. Contrary Mary, the winner of nine races, including one for todays rider, has been in good form this year and is one to keep an eye on, as is the disappointing War Valor, who turned in several decent efforts as a three-year-old, but found it difficult to get his head in front. Gelded over the winter, he will be all the better for his outing on the Polytrack earlier this month and is capable of seeing this lot off at his best. Ehab, who has done most of his racing on the All-Weather, may find this trip on the sharp side.
