Verdict

Tahrir is taken to prevail over Song Thrush, Sheboygan and Parisette, with Bailey Gate likely to need the run. Tahrir created a favourable impression when scoring on her reappearance at Newmarket recently, and if she is to go for the Irish 1,000 Guineas then Barry Hills' filly will have to follow up in style. The going was fast at headquarters, but this easier ground should be more to her liking, and the daughter of Linamix, third to the useful Shangai Lily at Newbury last September, can outclass today's opposition. Song Thrush won her maiden in soft ground at Newmarket last backend and made a lot of the running before fading in the Fred Darling at Newbury. She was reportedly interfered with during that race and as she should come on for the run, can give the selection most to do. Sheboygan kept good company last term, and may have found conditions too testing when third in Listed company on her final start last October. She is another that will have to step up a gear to figure. Parisette gave Henry Cecil his first winner of the season at Windsor but she also has to improve a few pounds to trouble the principals, while Bailey Gate is best watched on her return. Tahrir should be up to the task.
