Verdict
In a moderate contest, Bridge Pal can be rewarded for some consistent efforts by landing the spoils here, with Doris Souter and Field Spark the most likely to chase her home. Willie Jarvis' filly was unraced at two and began her career on Polytrack and Fibresand. She has only raced three times on turf, but shown a fair level of form on each occasion, the latest when third of 16 in a Nottingham handicap earlier this month. She stayed on strongly that day, without reaching the front two, and this step up in trip should be just what is required to get Bridge Pal off the mark. Doris Souter was a fair fourth in handicap-company at Kempton last month and Richard Hannon's filly was second on Polytrack here on her latest start, and although she has yet to get her head in front she has decent place claims here under Richard Hughes. Field Spark is due to make a quick reappearance after a reasonable run at Redcar and seems consistent enough, but there is a suspicion that the handicapper may just have his measure and he may just have to settle for place prize money once again.
