Verdict
A poor handicap where YAWARY is a very tentative pick to have the measure of Bella Charlie, Sweet Avon and Novillero. The last-named is 1lb out of the handicap and rated only 45, but he did at least show some semblance of form when runner-up in a minor Wolverhampton contest last time. Whether he will have the consistency to reproduce that here is open to doubt and we are opposing. Bella Charlie is open to improvement after just four starts, when admittedly there hasn't appeared to be much forthcoming. The return to 7f is taken as a positive, as is the 2lb drop in the weights, and a market check is advised. Wigan Lane is worth another try over this far but has to put a very disappointing seller effort behind her from last time and is hard to fancy, while Sweet Avon cannot be discounted after a nice maiden effort last time and with some stamina on the dam's side is a potential improver over this longer trip, so has to be considered. Trained by Clive Brittain, the selection Yawary acts well on this surface and has posted some reasonable efforts in defeat so far. The return to 7f looks a positive for her, there is scope for more to come over this far, and with Newmarket hardly affected by the recent weather issues she will probably be straight enough to do herself justice.
