Verdict
Pas de Surprise just gets the vote here ahead of Meelup, Frankskips, He Who Dares and North By Northeast. Running through the field, Thumamah has won here on the Turf and his trainer is starting to hit the target now. However, lack of a recent run might count against him. Meelup was just touched off over today¿s course and distance from this same mark last time so is entitled to go well. Rocinante won at Wolverhampton in November but has disappointed twice since. Pas de Surprise¿s fifth here over course and distance last time was better than it first seemed as he met trouble in running. Expect better today. Welsh Wind remains competitive from his current mark. Frankskips has not won since scoring over course and distance in a maiden last season but he caught the eye in running over course and distance last time and his chance must be given due respect. He Who Dares turns out again quickly following a third behind easy winner War Owl four days ago. The drop to a mile is interesting, as he has won at that distance on Turf. Ehab has lost his way of late but his canny stable are adept at freshening up horses and this gelding has won from a higher mark, albeit at Wolverhampton. North By Northeast won at Newmarket from a mark of 62 in June His run here in September was promising so his chance too cannot be dismissed. Overall, though, we will side with Pas de Surprise.
