A modest maiden to open up with and Kempsey can get the better of World Report and Seamless to score. The selection reverts to six furlongs, having finished runner-up over course and distance on his penultimate start and also second to Ashes over the minimum trip at Wolverhampton last time. A reproduction on either of those efforts gives him a major chance here and this trip does seem to suit him best. World Report is officially rated 9lb higher than the selection and will have his supporters, but he may have been over-rated by the handicapper based on what we have seen. He drops back in trip and didn't entirely handle the surface last time out here, so we will wait for him to show us something like decent form before wading in. Seamless has his first game taste of the Polytrack, having had a couple of runs on Wolverhampton's slower surface, but he is going the right way and can get involved. But Kempsey has been going well in the context of this race and can break his duck today.
