In depth

Verdict

We are dealing with an unknown quantity in selecting Naos de Mirande, so the market should be watched, with others to consider including Papini and Dom d'Orgeval. The Thierry Doumen-trained Naos de Mirande is hard to assess but, from a canny operator and with Tony McCoy booked, you are going to have to pay heed to the market. Nathos has been running well and, even though seven pounds above his recent winning mark, can't be ruled out. Papini is the type that could be on a fair mark, while, even though he is seven pounds above a recent winning mark, Nathos cannot be ruled out of things. Auteuil winner Maletton has not shown too much in two British starts, but Dom d'Orgeval will appreciate today's trip to last time and looks set to run a big race. L'Oudon could be interesting form the Nicholls' yard, and Magot de Grugy is keeping his form well and can't be ruled out. Money for Idiome could be interesting, while many of the others look to need career bests to score, although Constantine is on a very handy mark but can he be relied upon, you have to ask yourself that. Overall, we will opt for Naos de Mirande, but pay heed to the market.
