Verdict
RED YARN is the suggestion to get the better of Spice Fair and Cuthbert amongst others but she'll have to reverse the form of her debut with La Toya J in order to do so. The selection is a half-sister to the decent handicapper South Cape and she appears to have a semblance of ability judged by her efforts on debut. She was notably green in the early stages but made some decent progress once the penny dropped and this wouldn't be the strongest maiden. La Toya J was in front of Red Yarn last time but had the benefit of a run already under her belt and she may be seen to better effect in handicap company. Cuthbert has had a few chances and the percentage call is to oppose him but this is his most realistic chance for a couple of runs so it would be folly to dismiss him out of hand. Spice Fair made a pleasing debut over a mile at this track and is sure to attract plenty of support on the back of that performance. He certainly merits respect and normal improvement from that run could make him hard to beat but the drop back in trip isn't certain to suit so a chance is taken with Red Yarn.
