Verdict

TAIPAN concedes 5lb and upwards all round but was a smooth scorer when making all at Killarney and is more than capable of repeating the dose over this furlong shorter trip. Quicker ground is a slight concern but the standard he sets is a good one. Female Soldier finished fifth in that Killarney contest and rates the leading rival on these revised terms and the drop in trip is also expected to suit. Ace Aussie has yet to spark for his new yard and is best watched for now and Mon Coeur is more interesting after a good Sligo maiden effort last month, albeit over half a mile shorter. He does make each-way appeal along with Kendancer.
