In depth

Verdict

An unusually strong beginners chase with several useful hurdlers making their debuts over fences. They include Castle Wings, who was progressing nicely when last seen in the spring, winning point-to-pointer Farrells Fancy who was placed in a couple of Grade events last backend, and Johannisberger, an impressive winner on just his third start over timber at Roscommon last month. Cavite Beta wasn't as good as some of these over hurdles but made a very promising chasing bow behind Ballyadam Brook at Killarney where the more experienced Mackeys Forge was behind while the progressive hurdler Take A Shot will be better for his chasing debut at Killarney a couple of weeks ago, his first start since last September. BURN AND TURN has come up against a couple of useful performers in his two races over fences and with that experience under his belt can gain his first success over the bigger obstacles.
