Soaring Monarch won a Roscommon maiden on soft ground in May and was well supported at the Galway Festival despite having had a break. He didn't quite get the run of the race and can do better. Dragon Of Malta hadn't been showing much but attracted support on the latter track last month and duly obliged. He's better in the autumn and should make a bold bid to defy a 9lb rise. Comfort Line is just 1lb higher than his last victory and should get into contention but Overheer has struggled from his revised mark after completing a summer double. VAFORTINO has been given a chance by the assessor having been dropped 4lb since finishing last in a Curragh Group 3. Placed at Listed level a year ago, he has Mikey Sheehy's claim to aid his cause so gets the nod.
