Verdict
Hurricane Lamp is different class to these on his best form and, with improvement to come for his seasonal reappearance; he gets the vote to open his account in hunter chase-company ahead of Ridgeway and Primaticcio. The last mentioned has won his last four races in this sphere but has not been seen since June 2002 and it is impossible to know how much ability he retains. A bigger threat then may come from Ridgeway, who has some decent form in this grade and comes here on the back of an encouraging return in a point-to-point. The 14-year-old Jemaro clearly still has the ability to win races having scored in a point two weeks ago, while Bold King and Dam The Breeze are others with place claims. However, Hurricane Lamp sets a decent standard and should be tough to beat.
