Let's hope that the Abberley Hall Old Boys turn out in force to support this competitive Hunters' Chase. Steve Flook has made it his mission to tame these contests this season and ENITSAG is preferred to O'Toole, Nyrche and Marblehead. A course and distance winner last time (beating Rowdy Yeats who re-opposes today on 4lb better terms), the selection has a fine strike-rate under rules and has won 10 of his 33 races. He acts on any ground but if it gets quicker then it will help rather than hinder and he is fancied to win again under Paul Tolman. Twenty Degrees won just a week ago, whilst Reflector made a couple of bad jumping errors when beaten last time at Hereford and will need to improve to win his second race under rules. Nyrche was well-fancied when he was well-held behind Jurado Express at Kempton (run well since) but it was a step in the right direction and he has not been over-raced in his career. O'Toole and Marblehead must be respected, with each sitting near the top of the tree on official ratings. The former represents shrewd connections and shouldn't be far away if fully tuned up after a break, whilst the latter was weakening and well-held in the Foxhunters' at Cheltenham when falling but the drop in trip and class will obviously be in his favour. The market will help provide some further clues but the nomination is Enitsag.
