Verdict
The Ludlow 5:15 may boast a field of 15 but in reality this bumper is little more than a match between Gigs Bounty and Conroy. The latter has the assistance of Tony McCoy which will point punters towards his chance. His two runs to date have been in good company, at Newbury and Warwick, and this opposition, Gigs Bounty apart is not as daunting. A P has ridden the horse on both previous occasions, and will no doubt have a plan up his sleeve to ensure that Frank Jordan's charge gets the better of his main rival. Gigs Bounty went into a few notebooks when fourth to Rome at Hereford, making steady headway in the closing stages. Mark Pitman's five-year-old shaped like a sure-fire future winner on that occasion, handling the fast ground well, and with Timmy Murphy in the plate, should prove hard to beat. Richard Johnson partners Croc En Bouche so will have every assistance in the saddle, but a place is the best he can hope for.
